Thank you Baby Wise

3 weeks old and look what we accomplished:
Puts herself down for naps
Sleeps in her own room
Down to 1 nighttime feeding

Glorious...Thank you Baby Wise I must say I checked the video monitor like a thousand times last night to make sure I wasn't destroying her psychologically. I did miss seeing her little face in the bassinet, but I did enjoy the extra sleep I got.

17 days old!

1 week old

I can't believe our pea is a week old today!

Today she had to got to the pediatric orthopedic to get her body brace. She has hip displacia which is correctable if caught early enough. She has to wear this sad body brace 24 hours a day! It is so sad to see her in it. I had to go to the doctor with our T and it was horrible. Berkeley looked at me like "Make them stop mommy". Worst mommy feeling ever. We don't know how long she has to wear it yet, but could be up to 6 months. We are lucky enough that it isn't bad enough for her to need surgery.
If that is the only problem she is born with, we are lucky. Many go through a lot worse.

Stubborn Kid!

Word of advise:

Men and any moms who were before their due date- Take your "Be Patient" and find a place to shove it

Moms- Do NOT tell me how over due you were with your first (it doesn't help get this kid out any quicker!)

(I promise I am not crazy to be around as much as it may sound)

No change since Saturday except the kid is now 2 cm bigger than last Thursday...What the! Stop child!

Last vent: Why does my pregnancy counter go back to more time till my due date?! It should be flashing "Stubborn Kid, Anxious Parents"

3 A.M. ... woke up to contractions
Awake with them until 5 A.M.
The whole time I freaked out about going to the hospital...NOT to be in labor or to be a mother

Freaked out because all I could think about was that I needed to clean the bathrooms still!
The only reason I didn't bleach the toilets at 3 A.M. was because I didn't want to wake up my baby daddy!

Then they decided to disappear and allowed me to scrub the bathroooms...whew! Now labor can begin...PLEASE!

MTV Cribs...Baby Style

The nursery is officially ready for this kid to come poop and scream in it...can't wait! Much credit to Grandma White who made all the bedding and accessories. And to my mom who helped the most indecisive pregnant chick make decisions. It has been pretty cool to do, but it feels good to have nothing left to do to it, even if I wanted to (I still don't like the white color blocks...I'm over it!)

Baby Shower #1- So Cal style

In November my bestie, Leslie, and my mom gave me an adorable shower to celebrate this little rascal that's about to come. It was awesome to see so much family and long time friends I never get to see. All my favorite things (egg bake, teal and fuscia) and nothing I hate (pastels and lame baby games)

A So Cal Christmas

We weren't sure if we were going to make it down this Christmas until the last minute. We had to get the doc's okay to go. As long as we drove the 99 (more hospitals) we were given the green light. Since I was on bed rest I didn't get to do a whole lot, but my mom became my official wheelchair chauffeur. We did manage to get some family excitement in, but most importantly..NO Christmas baby! (phewww!)

Some highlights of the awesomeness that took place:

2nd annual Tomseth gingerbread contest
We won..again! (we did a Tomseth family vacation theme)

Competition got a bit intense this year...Grandma and Grandpa did a straight castle! Too bad they were disqualified, I don't think lego men, hot glue guns and spray paint are edible. Quite a step up from last years Northridge earthquake gingerbread house
